Montrose Redevelopment Authority/TIRZ 27 Welcomes the Ismaili Center

A milestone moment has arrived in Montrose with the opening of the Ismaili Center Houston, the first of its kind in the United States. The Center was formally introduced earlier this month during an inauguration ceremony attended by community leaders, elected officials, faith representatives, and members of the Ismaili community. Here’s the letter sent by our chairman:

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Montrose Redevelopment Authority and the residents of Montrose, it is my great pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the Ismaili Center Houston.

Your arrival represents a moment of genuine pride for our community and reflects what makes Montrose so special—its inclusiveness, diversity, and its enduring and welcoming spirit of connection among people of all backgrounds and beliefs.  The presence of the Ismaili Center enriches not only our neighborhood but also the entire City of Houston.  It stands as a symbol of dialogue, understanding, and service—values that align beautifully with the very character of Montrose.

The visit of His Highness the Aga Khan is a truly memorable event for our city, and we are deeply honored that this landmark institution now calls Montrose home.  As you are now a part of this neighborhood, we are now a part of yours.

On behalf of the entire Board and the people of Montrose, welcome. We look forward to the Ismaili Center being an integral and enduring part of this community for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Matt Brollier
Chairman of the Board
Montrose Redevelopment Authority / Montrose TIRZ
